(Alexandria, LA) – The All Pro Tour will be in Kinder, Louisiana for the Coushatta Open. This is the second year Koasati Pines Golf Club will be hosting the APT. 

FEATURED PLAYERS:

Jake Doggett, hailing from Hutto, TX, has emerged as a notable pro golfer in his third year since transitioning from college golf at Midwestern State University. With a promising season ahead, Doggett's recent performance in the Coke Dr. Pepper Open showcased his skill and determination. Finishing the tournament at T2, he demonstrated remarkable consistency and prowess on the course. Throughout the week, Doggett shot an impressive 15 under par, solidifying his status as a rising star in the golfing world. His strategic gameplay and steady performance indicate a bright future ahead for this talented golfer from Texas.

Chad Sewell, the talented pro golfer hailing from Conroe, TX, and an alumnus of Sam Houston State University, is currently in his third year as a professional golfer, showing immense promise in the sport. Throughout the 2023 season, Sewell consistently showcased his skills, securing a spot in the top 25 in every tournament he participated in. Notably, he emerged victorious in two tournaments last year, namely the Texarkana Children Charities Open and the RGAC Fall Classic, further solidifying his prowess on the course. In addition, during the first round of the Coke Dr. Pepper Open was a pre-qualifying event for the Texas Houston Open. Sewell demonstrated exceptional performance and he qualified for the Texas Houston Open Qualifier, indicating his continued dedication and progress in the sport. Impressively, Sewell's stellar form persisted as evidenced by his recent performance in the Coke Dr. Pepper Open, where he finished the tournament at T15, shooting a remarkable 9 under par for the week. With such consistent excellence, Sewell undoubtedly stands as a promising contender in the world of professional golf. 

LAST YEAR’S CHAMPION:

Blake Elliott, hailing from College Station, TX, rose to prominence as a standout collegiate golfer at McNeese State University before transitioning seamlessly into the professional circuit. Now in his fifth year as a professional golfer, Elliott has been steadily building a reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the course. His promising trajectory is evident, especially after being crowned the 2023 Player of the Year and clinching the top spot on the 2023 Money List with earnings totaling $52,842.67. Notably, Elliott showcased his prowess by triumphing at the Coushatta Open last year, concluding the tournament with an impressive 16-under-par score. Currently competing on the Korn Ferry Tour for the 2024 season, Elliott continues to exhibit his skills on a larger stage. Despite facing stiff competition, his performance at the 117 Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro, where he finished T53, signifies his potential for further success on the professional circuit. As he navigates his career with determination and skill, Blake Elliott remains a name to watch in the world of professional golf.

This week’s APT field is made up of 135 players from 10 countries. 

The breakdown of the players per country in the field this week: United States (123), Mexico (2), China (2), Canada (2), England (1), Australia (1), Ireland (1), France (1), Scotland (1), and Sweden (1).

FEATURED GROUP:

In Round 1 of the Coushatta Open, all eyes are on the featured group comprising Brett White, Jake Doggett, and Jacob Bergeron. Jake Doggett has been making waves this season with a string of impressive performances, most notably securing a T2 finish at the Coke Dr. Pepper Open, showcasing his potential for greatness. Brett White, on the other hand, has been steadily making his mark, having participated in one Korn Ferry Tour event this 2024 season, demonstrating his determination and skill on the course. Meanwhile, Jacob Bergeron brings his collegiate pedigree to the mix, having honed his talents at Louisiana State University, where he was ranked as the #11 golfer in his recruiting class prior to his time at LSU. This trio of talent is set to tee off at 12:25 p.m. at the esteemed Koasati Pines Golf Club, promising an electrifying display of golf prowess and competition.

Action gets underway at 7:45 A.M. CT the first two days of play. A cut will be made after 36-holes to the top 35% of the starting field, including ties. Amateurs are included in the cut number. The field will be repaired before the final two rounds based on score and players will go off in reverse horseshoe with leaders of the APT teeing off last. A trophy presentation by the clubhouse will follow the final round of play. Attendance is free to the public.
