Four Players Share Lead after Round 1 of The Territory Classic

Duncan, OK - The All Pro Tour made its return to Duncan, OK for The Territory Classic, presented by DRH Health. After the conclusion of Round 1 at The Territory Golf & Country Club, four players are tied for the lead sitting at 6-under 65.

Among those players is Garrison Smith (Mansfield, TX), who is coming off a win at the APT Birdies on the Bayou tournament. Smith had seven birdies and one bogey to secure his shared lead heading into round two.

“I just hung in there today and stayed committed to my routines. I started slow but stayed present and after that first birdie went in I started playing more relaxed and they seemed to keep on falling in,” said Smith

Another player at the top of the leaderboard is Kyle Hogan (Fort Worth, TX), who carded a bogey-free round with four of his circles stemming from the front nine.

“I’m pretty happy with today. I put myself in a lot of good spots to be aggressive into the greens. I got lucky to make a few putts from 15-30 feet which helped,” said Hogan. “Overall I’m pretty satisfied with how the day went. I just need to be better at judging the wind and hitting my numbers the rest of the week.”

Defending champion Brooklin Bailey (Waco, TX) also saw a solid round for the first day. Bailey turned in a 4-under 67, with three birdies and an eagle on the front nine. However, the Waco native saw some trouble on the back with bogeys on holes 10, 12 and 17.

“It’s great to get back to The Territory. I felt as though I did a great job staying present throughout the day. That’s something I’ve been focusing on. Just a few unfortunate bogeys cost me, but I’m confident in my ability to score out here,” said Bailey. “I’ll be looking to clean up those mistakes throughout the week and see if I can capitalize on my position after today. Lots of 3’s on the card today so that made things exciting. Most importantly I enjoyed the walk.”

The second round of The Territory Classic will begin at 7:30 a.m. CT with players looking to get inside the cut line. The cut will be made to 43 players and ties (35%). Follow along with live updates on our socials: Instagram @allprotourgolf Twitter @AllProTourGolf.
